A single isolated, translucent, deep burgundy red Almandine crystal (18x19 mm) nestled in a silvery Mica schist matrix. The locality is well known for Almandine crystals of dodecahedral form with trapezohedral edge modifications. Accompanied by an old hand written label from the Mining Academy at Freiberg, Germany which pre-dates 1918. A very collectable Garnet with good pedigree.
