A rich Kermesite specimen on Quartz matrix from the well known Neue Hoffnung Gottes Mine, in Germany. The Kermesite has a highly fibrous habit investing a large area of the spiky Quartz matrix. The Kermesite is a deep wine red with silky lustre forming plume-like sprays to 3mm in length. A rich example for this location probably dating from 1800s; it is very difficult to find specimens this good from Saxony. A great German classic.
