A fine example of Kermesite from one of the classic European location namely the Neue Hoffnung Gottes Mine, in Germany. The Kermesite forms plumes to 0.9cm of acicular crystal richly investing the Quartz matrix. The crystals have a deep maroon colour with a silky luster. Some areas of the crystal plumes have a blue sub-metallic iridescence. An excellent specimen from this classic location.
