









A solid specimen example of Cryolite from the Ivigtut area in Greenland. The monoclinic (pseudocubic) Cryolite crystals to 1.1cm on edge are typically coated in Fe-oxides. The Cryolite is translucent white with pearly lustre. Micro-prismatic crystals of Thomsenolite are associated with the Cryolite.
