Description

A small cabinet specimen of Calcite on Rhodochrosite from Kosovo. The Calcite forms arching stacks of inter-grown lenticular crystals to 3cm diameter, and are translucent and lustrous. The Calcite has formed on a light pink platy Rhodochrosite matrix. A thin band of black Mn oxide is seen between the Calcite and Rhodochrosite. An pleasing specimen of two carbonate minerals.
