A forest of nail head Calcite crystals from the Beckermet Mine, Egremont. The beautifully formed elongate prismatic crystals measure to 2cm tall, and are perfectly arranged on the specimen for display with smaller crystals at the front and the more dominant towards the back. The majority of the crystals have a thin pink-red film of Hematite on the terminations and down one side of the crystal. The matrix is a shallow dome of red-brown Hematite. An excellent nail head Calcite that displays well from many angles. Lindsay's label states that the specimen was collected in the 1970s.
