Excellently formed crystals of Cuprite from the Tsumeb Mine. The sharp crystals to 0.4cm are densely aggregated and scattered all over the light coloured vuggy Dolomite matrix. The Cuprites are dominated by the dodecahedral form, with some slight variation in a few crystals. The many orientations of the dodecahedral faces reflect the light to give a sparkling lustre from the deep silvery red crystals. The Dolomite matrix is the typical pale pinkish colour from Tsumeb with a deeper red tint in places and a sparkling luster. A marvelous specimen of Cuprite from a classic location.
