KRISTALLE Stepping Into Some RAREfied Territory…..

We have four – only four specimens of Wittichenite from Cattle Grid pit, Mt. Gunson mine, Pernatty Lagoon, South Australia

These brilliant crystals were thought to be Chalcocite when found. In 2008 they were identified as Wittichenite. The locality was only briefly mined in the early 1980’s; a very limited quantity is available.

The finest crystal ever found is on the cover of the Mineralogical Record March-April 2013 issue and has a home at the fabulous MIM Museum in Beirut, Lebanon.
