Fossil Marine Reptile Tooth
Upper Cretaceous age (80 million years old)
A “dinosaur” that swam, having adapted legs into flippers (similar to the evolution of whales). With sturdy neck and skull up to 6 ft. long, Mosasaurs were major predators in the Cretaceous seas. Pterogoid (throat) teeth helped prevent prey from escaping.
